YMCA Employment, Education and Immigrant Services  assists newcomers with their orientation and integration into the Brantford and Brant communities.

Who is Eligible?

  • Permanent Residents
  • Convention Refugees
  • Refugee Claimants
  • Newcomers who have obtained Canadian citizenship but still need settlement support
  • International Students in Canada who initiate or those who are waiting for the finalization of their applications for permanent resident status. 

FREE Services & Support

  • Orientation to the local community
  • Settlement information and counselling
  • Information sessions on a variety of topics
  • Help completing various immigration forms and documents
  • Information and referrals to employment services
  • Advocacy and referral
  • Community Connections Activities (English conversation circles, newcomer youth activities)

  • Sponsorship and Citizenship applications

  Other Programs:

  • English Conversation Circles: for newcomers who would like to improve their English speaking skills, meet new friends, learn about the local community, culture and customs.
  • Newcomer Youth Activities:   provide great opportunities to learn new skills, get help with school homework, connect with other peers, share experiences, and through participation and volunteering gain 40 hours of community involvement.
